Exchanges

Q. Can a Variable-Rate Bond be exchanged for a Step-Up Bond, or vice-versa?
A.

No. Exchanges between types of OSBs (e.g. Variable-Rate, Step-Up and Fixed-Rate) are not permitted.

 
Q. Can a Compound Interest bond be exchanged for an Annual Interest bond, or vice-versa?
A.

Compound Interest bond may be exchanged, at any time prior to maturity, for an equivalent principal amount of an Annual Interest bond of the same type of Bond, by presenting the bond to be exchanged to the Registrar. Exchanges are not permitted on any Redemption Date, or during the 15 days immediately preceding.

Exchanges from Annual Interest to Compound Interest are no longer permitted.
